N.C. and was affectionately known as "Sweel Flo" to those close to her. Mrs. Alexander received degrees from North Carolina Central University and a Masters Degree from Winston Salem State University. She was a member ot Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church for over 50 years where she served in vari ous capacities including the Women's Home and Overseas Missionary Society, Sunday School Superintendent, and the Cathedral Choir, where she was known for her melodious voice. Her legacy includes being an educa tor in Caswell and Winston-Salem Forsyth County School systems, a member of numerous Service Organizations including Sethos Court No. 105, Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, and a faithful volunteer in rier community. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. GNASH On May 16, 2008, there was a baby born to Shalanta Wilson and Christopher Gnash. Her name was Zariah Nicole Gnash. She arrived a lit tle early, but she was a strong fighter. She caught the eye of everyone that had a chance to see her and hold her in their presence. She was a happy baby. Zariah smiled, laughed, and cried. She had such a short time with us, but those 2 Vi months were the best days of her life. LEWIS Walker Belindo Lewis, Sr. began his life June 1, 1931 in Chester, South Carolina was called to sing in God's choir on Thursday. July 10, 2008. Walker was preced- ? ea in aeatn on January 7, 2005 by his mother, Mary Rebecca Lewis Brown. He was an only child. He served in the US Army where he managed to see many places. He was honorably discharged and received the Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge. Although he did not make headline news, he was a hero to those who loved him. Walker loved to sing. There was always a song in his heart. He sang in the choir and served on the Usher Board at Exodus United Baptist Church until his health declined. Because he loved everyone. Walker never met a stranger. He not only pro vided for his family, he would give his last to anyone in need. Walker was proud of all his children and extremely proud of his grandchildren.
