Former Aggie b-ball captain to speak at Men's Day program SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE St. Paul United Methodist Church will celebrate Men's Day on Sunday, Sept. 21 at its 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services. The Rev. Lee Robinson will speak at both services. Robinson was ordained at the Power House of Prayer of Greensboro in 1988. A native of Laurinburg, he is a gradu ate of North Carolina A&T State University, where he was captain of the men's bas ketball team that won four MEAC championships and participated in four NCAA tournaments. Robinson has served in several capacities at St. Paul, including past president of the United Methodist Men; past director of Saint Paul Vacation Bible School; and Youth and Adult Sunday School teacher. He is current ly the Pastor of The Anointed Rev. Robinson House of Deliverance in Laurinburg. He and his wife. Sheila, have two children, Leah and Brandon. Music for Men's Day will be provided by the St. Paul Men's Chorus. Men's Day is Golf tournament to benefit Young Life SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Young Life Urban will sponsor its fourth Fall Classic Golf Tournament on Thursday, Sept. 25 with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. at the Winston Lake Golf Course. Registration begins at noon at a cost of $65 per player. Individi^als, business es and churches are invited to form 4-person teams to sup port this event. The event will support urban youth in the county's high schools. An awards dinner will take place at 6:30 p.m. following the tournament. Young Life Urban has a mission of introducing ado lescents to Jesus Christ and helping them grow in their faith. Young Life, an interna tional program, has been in Forsyth County for over 50 years. The Golf Tournament is a captain's choice format. Mulligans may be purchased. There will be prizes for teams in three flights. She also is the founder and pastor of Preparation to Heaven ^of God Ministries. She is a 2003 graduate of Bible Outreach Institute. The afternoon speaker will be Pastor Ceasar Werts, founder of First Redeemed Baptist Church in High Point. He started the ministry in 2006 with a handful of mem bers at the Quality Inn in Winston-Salem. He says he prayed to God fpr the ministry to have a building of its own and God answered his prayers. Werts is a graduate of Manhattan School of the Bible of New York City. He is on the executive board of the Guilford Educational Missionary Baptist Association. He is married to First Lady Laurie A.
