"The Urban League is strictly about the communi ty," he remarked. "Everything we do, every thing we are is because of the community we serve." Its original mission of creating job opportunities and battling unemployment is endures to this day, Grandberry added. Keith Grandberry Patricia Sadler "There's nothing better than being able to provide for your family." Despite trying economic times, the organization has thrived under Grandberry's leadership. "As the economy has slipped, we in fact have worked harder," he com mented. "We have so many people in need now - more than ever before. Our work has tripled as a result of recent events." Despite the growing demands upon the Urban League's Grandberry says he's confi dent the organization will continue to empower those who need it most. "Being an optimist, one of the things I hope we can get out of this economic cri sis is to look at how we can create (entrepreneurial) busi ness opportunities for some of the people," he comment ed.
