t Kb VHAVHIV bb B-day celebration held for Holy Trinity 's co-pastor SPECIAL TO THb CHRONICLE Holy Trinity Full Gospel Baptist Church celebrated the glorious life of its Co Pastor Ernestine Miller on Sunday, a few days before she celebrated her birthday on Thursday, Oct. 30. The celebration included a service featuring Pastor Clifton Sawyer and the Cornerstone Church family as well as songs of melody from the Cornerstone praise learn. The servue also included a mime selection to J. Moss's "Praise on The Inside" by Holy Trinity's Mime Ministry. Pastor Sawyer based his words on the Scripture tent from Luke IS: 18. He detailed the time of struggle in everyone's life by painting the verbal pic ture of sap going down in a tree. And though no one escapes the trials of life, he said it's but for a moment. After speaking forth the word that God had given him for the entire congrega tion, Prophet Sawyer began to walk heavily in the gift of prophesy. He spoke into the lives of many. Radio host Kyle Santillian speaks. Celebration is planned for Allen SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Ambassador Cathedral will host a celebration in honor of David L. Allen Sr. on Sunday at 6 p.m. Allen is the church's Minister of Salem State University. He received his Special Education Certification from High Point University. Alien is currently the Exceptional Children Case Manager at Hill Magnet School. He and his Music and one of the area's best known musicians. From a child, music was his first love. "My mother taught me my first chords," says Allen, who has developed a reputation nationally for his talents, sk^ljs and musical temperament. The talented writer and musician has a longtime affili ation with the Gospel Music Workshop of America, which was founded by the the late Rev. James Cleveland. To experience his music is to gain a foretaste of glory divine. Allen is a native of Winston-Salem. In 1979, he graduated from Winston ?wife, Sharon, are the proud parents of two children. David Jr. and Davida. Allen i^. the son of Bishop and Mrs F. D. I Patterson of Ambassador Cathedral . Sunday's cele bration will feature Allen music and guest speaker Bishop George Gibson, pastor of the Christian Love Worship Center of Philadelphia. Allen and Gibson are longtime friends. An early voting station was set up on the A&T cam pus. Jay-Z urged students who had not already taken advantage of early voting to do so. To stress his point, he held up an early voting reg istration form and shouted "Aggie Pride." The trio of Jay-Z, Simmons and Liles made several stops on college campuses in North Carolina and beyond for the Obama campaign. Their efforts obviously paid off.
