'Commitment is a pledge
TO SEE IT THROUGH'
Lesson Scripture: Luke 1 : 46-55
o
Lesson Aims: To explain Mary's response to
Elizabeth, to understand the key points in Mary's song,
and to recognize the need for commitment.
Background: The Winter
Quarter's theme is "Human
Commitment." We begin in the
Gospel of Luke and continue
during January and February,
focusing on various books of the
Old Testament. Commitment
goes far beyond simply showing
up. It is dedication in the face of
adversity, sacrifice, fatigue and
even being overwhelmed.
Commitment is a pledge to see it
through: to remain loyal no mat
ter the circumstances. This quar
ter presents the famous like
Mary, John the Baptist. Joshua
and Samson along side of the not so famous (shepherds,
midwives in Egypt and the Shunammite woman). The
lessons will fascinate as well as encourage us to do some
self-examination. God knows us better than we know
ourselves so don't fake it - be for real!

the Gentiles. The book present
