Theismann will be in
Greensboro on Tuesday
(March 10) to help kick off
an effort to encourage more
people to support area scout
ing programs.
A former Boy Scout,
Theismann

breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at the
Koury Convention Center
Theismann set several
franchise jrecords as QB for
the Washington Redskins,
including most career pass
ing attempts, most career
passing completions and
most career passing yards.
He helped lead the Redskins
to a win in Super Bowl
XVII.
In 1983, he was the NFL
Most Valuable Player. He
also earned MVP honors in
the second of his two Pro
Bowl appearances.
Theismann was inducted
into the College Football
Hall of Fame in 2003. He
played at Notre Dame.
Off the field, he has
always been known for giv
ing back. In 1982,
Theismann was selected the
NFL's Man of the Year for
his community service and
dedication to the health and
welfare of children.
Theismann has spent the last
20 years working for ESPN
on its NFL broadcast,
including ESPN's Monday
Night Football.
The Old North State
Council of the Boy Scouts is
headquartered in
Greensboro and covers an
eight-county area including
Alamance, Caswell, Davie.
Davidson, Guilford, Person,
Randolph and Rockingham
counties (Forsyth County is
among the counties in the
Scouts' Old Hickory
Council). The Old North
State Council serves more
than 10,000 young people
annually in the Cub Scouts,
Boy Scouts. Venturing and
Learning for Life programs.

Morgan State head coach Todd
Bozeman has been named one of the
finalists for the*2009 Hugh Durham
National Coach of the Year Award,
which is given to the nation's top
mid-major coach.
The award, which is voted on by
a 20-member panel, will be present
ed during the 2009 NCAA Final
Four in Detroit.
The Collegeinsider.com Mid
Major Coach of the Year award was
renamed in honor of Hugh Durham
in 2005. Durham retired at the end
of the 2004-05 season and was one
of 12 coaches to lead two different
programs to the NCAA-Final Four -
Florida State in 1972 and Georgia in

Skyscraper Alleyne is the sec
ond-tallest Globetrotter in his
tory and the second-tallest
professional basketball player
currently playing in the U.S.

Kentucky Wildcat will join
other Globetrotter notables for
an evening of basketball wiz
ardry. hilarious antics and fan

N.C. A&T's eight-game winning streak on
Monday, beating the Aggie at home 59-56.
The Aggies won their eighth straight game with
a 69-59 win over Howard last
Saturday evening at Corbett
Sports Center. The last time
the Aggies won eight straight
- the 1990-91 season -
George H. W. Bush was the
President of the United States
and legendary coach Don
Corbett was still the Aggies'
