Volunteers needed to help
older adults
The Shepherd's Center of
Greater Winston-Salem, 1700
Ebert St., will hold training for
new volunteers on Thursday,
June 11 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Volunteers are needed to assist
older adults with things such
as transportation to medical
appointments and the grocery
store mand minor home
repairs. Volunteers are also
needed to visit homebound
clients. Hours are flexible.
Mileage reimbursement is pro

African Dance Workshop

is offering a co-ed African
dance workshop at the

The Sound of Hope
International Children's Choir performs locally to full house

It was standing-room
only at Galilee Missionary
Baptist Church on Sunday as
the Children of the World
International Children's
Choir performed.
The choir is made up of
orphaned or disadvantaged
children from' countries
around the world who are
receiving aid from World
Help, a nondenominational
Christian organization that
ministers in 60 countries.
Part of that ministry is find
ing financial sponsors for
needy children and building
homes for orphaned and
abandoned youth.
The 13-child choir used
high-energy dancing,
singing and drumming to
bring down the house at
Galilee. Their songs of
praise were performed in
many different languages.
Some songs were well
known, such as the classic,
"Jesus Loves the Little
Children;" others were more
