The chapter has worked with Latham tor" several ?years as part of the fraterni ty's national "Assault on Illiteracy," Brothers volun teer a portion of their time at the school each week to help children learn reading and math skills. They put in extra time to help students prepare for the standard ized tests they must take throughout the year The fraternity also sponsots an end-of-year pizza party to reward the children for their efforts and thank the staff and faculty for allow ing them to. he of assis tance. Benny \1 urn II and hmory Jones were at the forefront of the chapter's volunteer effort this year, and the stu dents that they helped exhibited measured aca demic improvement. The chapter closed out their service to Latham this year by providing Italian Ice treats to all the children during the Latham Field Day activities on June X. As an extension to .Omega's commitment to Latham, several of the young men ig the tutoring program will be. sponsored hv Psi Phi Chapter to attend the Omega Boy's Summer Camp in King. The chapter raist's funds yearly to pro vide a no-cost fun-filled week in August at Camp Hanes for at least 10 young men ages X to 15. The Psi Phi Chapter and Basileus John P. Dickerson recently graduated from High Point University with two bache lor's degrees - ? ?; . : . ' ' one in market ing and one in finance. She made the Dean's List during the" Spring 2<K)1) semester. The honor goes lo students who have a GPA of 3.5 or above. Dickerson Dickerson is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Inc.. and has volunteered her time and talents at Crisis Control Ministry. Her immediate plans are to attend Appalachian State University to study a health promotions cohort. Stie is the daughter of Clinton, and .J'udi MaldOnado of "Ctemhions and was sponsored b\ State Rep. Larr\ Womble. The Speaker of the House appoints the pages and introduces each one to members and .citizens in the State House gallery at the start of each week dur ing Monday night ses sions. Pages help deliver bills and amendments for representatives dur ing daily House ses sions and committee meetings, .offer ? ass is' tance in ..individual Representati ves' Offices and run errands around the Legislature. Pages spend a week at the General Assembly, assisting members and their staff and learning about the structure of North Carolina government. Lesson Irani fXig? Moses goes to God in prayer seeking answers He blames God for not doing what He said He would. . Notice God's response to Moses' accusa tions . Instead of reprimand ing Moses. God tells him to wait and see what happens because deliverance is on the way. The stage is set for the showdown to determine who is in charge!! Application: Do you know who is in charge? Yes. there are levels of authority that we are expected to fol low. but as believers do we recognize and share with others the real power. Historically, economically, medically and otherwise, God shows up to exhibit His power above all powers. It doesn't matter if the observers know Him or not! When faced with uncertain ty. do like Moses. First pray to God. the ultimate power then wait for His response and finally follow His instructions.
