Church mothers treated to evening of fun
I
SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE
The Greater Higher Ground Ministries and
Bishop John H. Heath and Pastor Janice O.
Heath honored church mothers by treating them
to an evening out. The mothers were escorted
by Bishop Heath as they were chauffeured in a
limo to the Fire Mountain restaurant in
Kernersville. The evening was full of story
telling, laughter and lots of fun.
Bishop Heath believes that the mothers of
the church are its backbone because they con
tinue to pray and fast, allowing blessings to
flow and fill the house.
"Church mothers are there to guide our
youth, mentor our young mothers, encourage
our young men, support the men and women of
God and make the ministry strong," Bishop
Heath and Pastor Heath said. "God continues to
bless our mothers everywhere, today, tomorrow
and always. Remember, love is not love until
you give it away."

Lesson Scripture: Isaiah 7:13-17; Luke 1:30-38
Lesson Aims: To review the situation confronting King Ahaz; to appre
ciate the prophet's words of com
fort: and to be excited about the ful
fillment of the prophecy.
Background: Our focus today is
on the prophets foreshadowing (sign
of things to come) Jesus' birth.
There are numerous references of
that prophecy in the Old Testament.
Like last week, a connection is
made between the prophecy and its
fulfillment. Dr. John Mendez often
states that the Old" Testament con
ceals the prophecy while the New
Testament reveals it. Chapters 7-12
in Isaiah are referred to as "the Book of Immanuel," because it offers hope
during a troubled period in history. Ahaz sits on the throne of Judah (Greek
- Judea). An evil king who doesn't deserve God's mercy, by our standards,
gets it anyway. Glory to God for His mercy, because we doft'.tt^jv it
either! The kingdom is under the threat of attack ?from Aram awWSwsl. the
northern kingdom. He allied with Assyria for protection. His army is defeat
ed, making Judah a "sitting duck" for her enemy. God sends Isaiah to reas
