Her unique presentation of the gospel is a God-given gift. Brinson is the founder of W.O.V.E.N. Ministries, a women's ministry designed to meet the complex needs of today's woman through education, encourage ment and bringing t o g e t n e r women of all ages and stages for edification and service opportuni ties. She is the wife of Bishop Christopher L. Brinson, pastor of Calvary Kingdom Fellowship and the presiding prelate of the United Churches for Christ. Evangelist Brinson serves alongside her hus band in ministry as co-pastor of Calvary Kingdom Fellowship, an excited ministry of Kingdom peo ple. Her favorite scripture is Romans 8:28: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." An honor graduate of Carolina Christian College, where she earned both an associate and bachelor's degree, Brinson is the proud mother of three children, Tamela Hairston (Cory), Christopher Lamar Jr. (CJ) and Chrishna Marie, and the grand mother of adorable Gabriella Monique Hairston. Kimberly Park Holiness, 1640 S. M Caesar Dr., is led by Elder Robert Edmond and Evangelist Carolyn Edmond. Brinson The Good Shepherd Background Reading: Ezekiel 34 Lesson Scripture: John 10:7 18 Lesson Aims: To understand the significance of the shepherd; to recognize that Jesus wants to save all of us; to appreciate His faithfulness; and to lead other lost sheep to Him. Background: As the spring quarter closes, we focus on the great I am's of Jesus found in John 6:35,48, 51; 8:12 and 9:5; 10:7, 9; 10:11,14; 11:25; 14:6; and 15:1,5. All ar? qdite fascinating and thought provoking. Our lesson today centers on .1 . I C mc Micpiiciu iiicii caicb iur me sheep. To fully appreciate the shepherd's care, we must take a quick look at the sheep. I heard a sermon once that described them as dumb for the most part. They pay no attention to where they are going; they get stuck in ravines; find themselves on steep ridges; and they don't fight the flies away! "I Win" another hit for Sapp SPECIAL TO THE CHRONICLE Marvin Sappvs new CD and DVD, "I Win," are chart-toppers. Released last month, the CD debuted at #1 on the Gospel sales chart, and #9 on the Billboard Top 200. Additionally, the live record ing DVD debuted at #2 on the Christian Music Video chart. The first single, "My Testimony," is a smash on gospel radio. "It is a transparent, introspec tive look at what I came through and how, in the midst of it all, I still maintained and am maintaining my faith," Sapp says of the single, which he co-wrote with Aaron Lindsey. "The song is about me sharing how I got through it, not just that I got through it." Recorded live at Evangel Cathedral just outside of Washington, D.C., "I Win" is Sapp's first CD since the passing of his wife and manager MaLinda, and it is the first live CD recorded outside of Sapp's Grand Rapids, Mich, hometown. Still, the discs are indeed a musical triumph, with 10 brilliant tracks that reinforce Sapp's sentiment that "because I endured, I won." Marvin Sapp first hit the nation al stage in -1990 as a member o?the groundbreaking group Commissioned. The group dis banded around 1996 and Sapp launched his solo career. After a string of Top-Ten radio hits and a considerable following in Gospel music, Sapp saw unprecedented mainstream success in 2007 when a song that started out as a sponta neous moment of worship became a runaway hit at radio. The song "Never Would Have Made It" went on to become the #1 most played song of any genre at radio, and was the first Gospel song to sell one million ringtones. The rest, as they say, is history.
