The Picture of SUCCESS: Urban League Senior Program Works ]| Mary Eldridge, a 74 year old SCSEP participant had been unemployed three years before entering the Urban League Senior Community Services Employment Program. She was placed at the YMCA and was elated when offered the position of a Youth Counselor in the after school program that operates at the LaDeara Crest development. Charles Waters, a 64 year old disabled senior was assigned to the W-S Housing Authority as Custodian through the Urban League Senior Community Service Employment Program for paid work experience. He was assisted in developing a resume and coached in interview techniques. Mr. Waters successfully obtained the position as custodian with Senior Services. Brenda Barnes came to the Urban League office in Burke County to enhance her office skills and reenter the workforce. She had extensive office experience, but needed assistance to find a job. She was placed at the Senior Center for paid work experience. Based on her performance she was subsequently hired as Administrative Assistant.
