NC Black Film Festival
The Black Arts Alliance. Inc.
(BAA) presents the North Carolina
Black Film Festival (NCBFF), today
through Sunday, March 26-29, in
Wilmington. In its 14th year, the four
day juried and invitational festival of
independent motion pictures by
African-American filmmakers will
showcase features, shorts, animation,
and documentary films at the Cameron
Art Museum, the University of N.C. at
Wilmington, and the Hannah Block
USO Community Arts Center. Prizes
of $500 will be awarded in each cate
gory. Festival passes and advance tick

Admission is $50 for an All-Access
Festival Passes or $7 per film block.
Republican Women's meeting
The March Forsyth County
Republican Women's meeting will be
today (Thursday, March 26) at 6:30
p.m. at Forsyth Technical Community

St. The speakers will be many newly
elected or appointed officials. School

International Night
Davidson County Community

sounds of more than 30 countries
under one roof for its 10th annual
International Night from 5:30 to 7:30
p.m. on today (Thursday. March 26) in
the Brinkley Gymnasium on the col
lege campus. The public is invited to
attend . Tickets are $3 for all ages when

Musk & Comedy Extravaganza
The Edward C. Smith Civic Center
in Lexington announces the Music &
Comedy Extravaganza with Lexington
native Shantel Norman and special
guest comedian An-G on Friday,
March 27. The evening features fami
ly-friendly entertainment that is appro
priate for all ages. Doors open at 7
p.m., and the show begins at 8. Presale
tickets are available through the civic
center's box office for $10 each until
the day of the show. The box office

purchased at the door for $15 per
adult; $10 per child. Seating is general
admission. Concessions will be avail
able during the show.
Cruise-In
Forsyth Tech announcing it will
hold its second annual Cruise-In on
Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 2
pm at its state-of-the art Transportation
Technology Center, 4255 N. Patterson
Ave. Car, truck and motorcycle enthu
siasts are invited to bring their vehicles
to the Cruise-In. All makes and models
are welcome with no pre-registration
required. Gates will open at 9:30 a.m.
This family-friendly event is free and
open to the public and will be held rain
or shine. Food will be available, and
contributing to a cruise-in ambiance
will be a DJ playing beach music in
the background. Guided tours of the
college's Transportation Technology
Center, the most advanced center of its
kind in the southeast, will be offered at
10 am., 11:30 am. and 1 p.m. All
makes and models of vehicles are wel
come. This Cruise-In is free and open
to the public and will be held rain or
shine. Tours of the college's
Transportation Technology Center will
also be available.
Bennett fundraiser
The National Alumnae of Bennett
College Winston-Salem Chapter will
hold "Jazz in the Park" on Saturday,
March 28 at the BB&T BallPark The
feature performer is Keith Bytd, a
multi-talented performer, composer,
and arranger. His performance is a
scholarship fundraiser for Bennett
College. The event is from 11 ajn. -
1:30 p.m.. Tickets are $45 which
includes lunch. No tickets will be sold

Charter Day
Bennett College will observe the
126th anniversary of its chartering as a
four-year institution by the State of
North Carolina on Thursday, March 26
at 11 a.m. in the Annie Memer Pfeiffer
Chapel. Bennett received its chartering
from the State in 1889. The Charter
Day Convocation is open to the public.
Rev. Racquel Gill, associate minister
at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church
in Winnsboro, S.C., will be the Charter
Day speaker.
Fish plate fundraiser
On Saturday March 28, noon until
3 pjn. at the Rupert Bell Recreation

film screening and interactive discus
sion on Bill Moyer's documentary
"State of Conflict: NC.? It offers a
case study of what iriay be the direc
tion of American politics for years,
perhaps decades, to come. The film
will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Monday,
March 30 at the Mazie Woodruff
Campus of Forsyth Tech, located at
