Interesting war shares was tempor arily 'revived by strength of Crucible Steel, but other munitions, equipments and specialties of kindred character hesitated, with au almost equal dis tribution of nominal gains and losses. Of ', all the leaders. United States Steel exhibited greatest steadiness, hovering about its recent best price. Bethlehem. Steel made au advance of 6 1-2 points, gaining that much of its quarterly dividend of 7 1-2 per cent. Apprehen sions that continued rains in the South might prove unfavorable -to the crop, appeared to be reflected in the firmer ruling of the cotton mar ket here today, while buying also was promoted by further talk of in creased exports.
