Capt. Allison went forward to see
what the- trouble .was, and found
that the engine was , actually
hard and upon parts of . the t fire
box .. long icicles were hanging.
All efforts to get up steam were
unavailing and as 'a last resort a
quantity of wood was taken- from
the tender and. piledl under,-the
engine; when, it was, fired, and in
the course of a few minutes it. had
the desired effect and, the train
once more ot 's under headway.
