North Carolina do enact ;
Sec. 1. That no person or persons,
shall give away in any public place,
retail or sell except upon prescrip
tion of a practicing physician, and
for medical purposes, any intoxicat
ing liquors at any time within twelve
hours next preceding or succeeding
any public , election or during tho
holding thereof, et any place within
five miles of any election preeinct.
Sec. 2. That any perron or persons
violating the provisions of this act
shall be gnilty of a misdemeanor and
punishable with a fine of not less
than one hundred nor more than oue
thousand dollars.
Sec. 3. That this act shall take of
fset from the date of its ratification.
