' Mr. Grist has about three hundred acres in cotton and forn, about' equally divided by tie Greenville road. ,Ie showed us high land which had not been torched by fertilisers for the present cropland yet ' the, corn re minded us of what we had' seen ih Hyde county on a former day, and the cotton sur passed anything we had supposed possible in such a situation On the eastern side of the dividing road, the land' has recently been brough t under the wonderful Agencies ef agriculture, and .from the black soil both corn and cotton are growing upward w ith the most magical development, foretelling the most abundant harvest time".
