Holdash, previously named on most other major selections, was lecently chosen on the well known Williamson Ratings All-America Team. Youngstown, Ohio, home town of the popular Tar Heel star, has honored him as the outstanding athlete of the year from that area. Angler Takes Double Win From Coats Last Tuesday night the Angier high basketball teams treated the girls’ and boys’ teams from Coats kind of rough as they took two wins. The Angier girls started fast and won their game in the first half. They Took a "four point lead in the first quarter, and they ad(J6d five more in the second quarter; but, during the last half, the Coats girls got Busy and chopped five points off of the nine point Angier half time lead for a final score of 30 to 26. Alice Adams was the star for Angier for the night as she poured through 18 points. Athletic Performers Lost To The Armed Services CHAPEL PILL, Jan s—The Armed have dipped into the University of North Carolina’s athletic ranks in recent weeks to get six young Tar Heel perform ers. Hardest hit has been Coach Dan Nyimicz’ freshman basket ball squad which lost three men. Fenno McGinty, George May and Bryce Newman have cast point makers were McLeod and Johnson with six each for the win ners, and Doris Johnson and Hazel Holder got 12 and 11 for the losers. The best defenders were Cecelia Young and Rachel Mangrum for Angier, and for Coats, the top per formers were Sue Langdon and Imogene Williams. The Angier boys really went to town against the CoaTs boys as they ran up the highest point total of the week, 83 points. Ben Price with 24,. Jimmy Dupree wittytt, and Wiley Altman with 14 were,the big guns for the winners in their on slaught.
