Mrs. Ben Joe Sharpe announces the birth of a son Bennie Andrew, Tuesday, March 13 in the Lee County Hospital. She is the form er Marie Gilmore of Swann Sta tion. Mr. Sharpe was killed in an accident with Ids truck in Virginia only a short tune ago. Mrs. Mary J. MfcNair of Sanford who is executive director of Cen tral Carttkta Girl Scout Area, was the principle speaker at the meet ing. Following the egg hunt several stories were -told by the leader, after which cookies were served. Each child received an Easter basket filled with eggs and a bid die. The following children were pre sent: Susan Ennis, Graee Eam shaw, Fraley Bost, Robbie Pate, Warren Pate, Martha Ann West and Hal Tyler of Dunn. I Miss Gwen Johnson, president, held a business session during which membership dues were col lected by the treasurer. Miss Mavis Phillips, and other routine matters were disposed of. The scout troop, responsible for the children’s siory hour held each Saturday afternoon at the Mary Duhcan library In the municipal building, re-arranged the schedule of story-telling hours for different age groups of children. Members of the troop take turns as story tellers, the scouts to serve in this capacity for next Saturday being Miss Julia Ellis and Miss Gwen Johnson. Miss Mary Brittain, member cf the Benson school faculty, has re cently been chosen as leader of the troop and Miss Leona Johnson has recently become scribe. Miss Gwen Johnson is president and Miss Mavis Phillips is secretary and treasurer. The hostess served Ice cream and cookies after which taps was sung. Mr. and Mrs. Mancy P. McLamb of Benson announce the engage ment of their daughter, Virginia to James Taylor Neighbors, sen of Mrs. Bessie Neighbors Altman of Dunn and the late James T. Neighbors. The wedding will take place Sunday, April 22. BIRTHS Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Johson of near Benson announce the birth of a daughter on Friday, January 16, at Harnett County Hospital. Dunn.
