Mrs. Maude Whittenton. presi dent of the group presided over the meeting and Mrs. Leta Hardi son led the opening prayer. A duet was sung by Mrs. Hardi son and Miss Reba Altman. .Eleven new members were add ed to the enrollment of 23. Miss Altman made a short talk on "The Second Coming of Christ” and Bible quiz followed. All young people In the com munity are invited to bring their Bible and worship with the group. Sewing Secrets Are Demonstrated Mrs. Coy Norris gave a demon stration on sewing secrets for mem bers of the Woman's Club at their, regular meeting Monday evening. Mrs. Norris showed the club mem bers how to make their own covered buttons and stitched belt. Following the program Mrs. Lutie Fowler presided over a brief busi ness session, after which the meet ing adjaurned with the group; say ing together the club motto. The wedding will take place in the fall. Local Bride-Elect Feted Tuesday Night At Shower A miscellaneous shower was giv en last night at 8 o’clock, honoring bride-elect. Miss Shirley Raynor, at the home of Mrs. Sherill John son on W. Carr St. Mrs. Alsey John son and Mrs. Ed Welbourne were co-hostesses for the affair. A beautiful yellow-purple-throat ed orchid was given to the honoree when she arrived. The hostesses al so gave her an alumnium ironing board. The mantel in the living room contained an arrangement of green ery and white flowers with green candles on each end. Suapdragoiis and roses were used throughout the rest of the house. « A white umbrella on the dining room table held the shower of brid al gifts. Several unique contests were led during the evening. Mrs. Mavis Virginia Smith Is Guest Soeaker At Baptist Youth Meet Mias Virginia Smith, Presbyter ian Educational Director, was guest speaker at the Baptist Youth Aux iliary meeting last night at 8 o'- clock when they met in the church reertation room. “Talents" was the topic of Miss Smith’s message. A general meeting was held pre ceding the program and after the program Miss Patsy Snipes,, com munity missions chairman, passed out this week’s assignments. Miss Smith closed the meeting with prayer and the group then at tended the prayer service in the main auditorium. Those attending were Mrs. L. L. Coats, Miss Pat Johnson, Miss Bet ty Sue Draughon.
