The program for the evening was
on tithing and was given in two
parts. Mrs. Arden Stroud gave
the first part, entitled "They Tithe
With Joy,” and the second part,
•Work With Silent ePople,” was
given by Mrs. Maude Stewart.
During the business period Mrs
Odell McDonald gave a report on
Personal Service work.
The meeting closed with the
group singing ’’Blest Be The Tie
That Binds."
Following the meeting a social
hour was held, during which the
hostess served cup cakes, potato
chips, open-faced sandwiches and

“GOODBYE SUMMER” Pretty Miss Deane Turlington of Erwin
is pictured here on the diving board still smiling but sorta un
happy that summer has gone. She was taking a last swim of
the summer in Erwin’s pool. The lovely little lady entered a swim
ming class in Erwin three years ago when she couldn’t swim a
stroke. Now, she’s one of the best swimmers' in this section. And,
