(International) Meadow School News 4-H CLUB MEETING On Friday, November 2, 1951, the Meadow Senior 4-H Club met for the first time this year. The officers were elected. They are as follows: President, Mary Ida God win; Vice-President, Doris Wood; Secretary, Myrtle Johnson; Song Leaders, Hulda Gray Lee, Billy Teafrt#;! Repor#r, Charlotte Bare foot. In addition to electing officers the work and entertainment was discussed and planned for the year. The meeting proved to be very in teresting. F. H. A. The Future Homemakers of America met Wednesday, October 17, 1851 and elected officers for the year. They were Voted on by se cret ballot. The following officers were elected: President, Frances Johnson: Vice-President,*Edna Jane Westbrook: * Secretary, Geraldine Phillips: Treasurer, Shelba Jean Dunn: Reporter. Jean .Adams; His torian, Mary Ida Godwin; Song Leader, Hulda Gray Lee; Pianist, Essie Mae Dodd; Parliamentarian, Essie Mae Dodd. This year the F. H. A. Club haS taken the girls’ bathroom as Its first project. Each girl in school is asked for a ,dime to help with the project. . The club members are going to buy doors to put up over the sec tions, in the bathroom, put some mirrors on the wall, and they hope to make some dressing tables. They want to make the bathroom at tractive enough so that the teach ers as well as the students will use **■ " __ ' HALLOWE’EN CARNIVAL Meadow held its first Hallowe’en Carnival October 31st. There was a great roar of laugh ter, when Mr. Ayden Barefoot was selected from an audience of ap proximately 1400, as the most hen pecked man of the community. Among the events were the baby contest, cake sales, fortune telling. Prizes were given to those wearing the most original costumes Throughout the carnival, refresh ments, which were plentiful, were enjoyed by all. A total of $1266.07 was taken in from the carnival, and we are hoping to clear SIIOO.OO. Our principal, Mr. G. W. K. members'and teach ers of Benhaven sponsored a Hal loween Carnival at Benhaven High School October 31 at 7:«» o’clock. The returns of $135 went for the benefit of the actinbj. The main feature was the Beau ty-Talent Contest, men dressed as woihen. Delano Castleberry won for beahty, and Otoe Cooper won tor talent. The new mem bers took the. pledge of member ship and were presented their Cer tificates and pins. Those inducted were Helen Mc- Artan, Ruth Denham. Dot West, Beckle Howen, Shirley Thomas Carr; Pat pirwh. Myrtle Mat thews, Doris Godfrey, Doris Turn t er, Shelby Raynor, Bobby Darden, Ken Black, Delores West, Willie Eaye Hayes and Helen Joyce Hol den. After the ceremony was over, pictures were taken for' the Beta Club jourhal. ADS! Six members of the Senior Class went to Fayetteville yesterday so liciting ads tor the Ancrenoca An nual. We Had a very successful day. We, the Senior Class, We Hoping to have our Annual completed very soon. MR. AND MISS A. C. Mr.'and Miss A. C. were chosen at Stunt Night, October 26. The King tor high school Is Bryant Hickman and the Queen, Kitty Shaw. The Junior King and Queen are Wade Vuncannon and Betty Melton. ' Mae Howard and Judy Weiderhoe. The King and Queen of Ben haven were Thomas Lee Coleman and Mary Ragland. The Prince and Princess were Mike Brownlee and Judy Cameron. Shelton Norris won the turkey chance. Concessions included the Hall of Horrors, Qean Guess, Art Gal lery, Fortune Telling, Square Dance, Food Stand, and Cake Walk.
