Oh Wednesday evening at seven \ # thirty the Coats Baptist Sunday School gave its regular Christmas program. All members of the Sun day School were urged to attend. Sunday December 23rd. at 7:30 P. M. the Baptist Church choir will give a program of Christmas music. This should be a much in spiring program. Make your plans to be present and invite your, friends. 9’ Friends of Mrs. M. O. Phillips wete glad to see her at Sunday School Sunday after having been absent for some time on account of illness. Miss Mattie Bain who has been reouperating from a broken shoulder at the home of her brother Dr. C. D. Bain in Dunn was the guest of Mrs. J. R. I Several of the Coats teachers are going to spend their Christmas holidays touring Florida. Among them are Miss Phyllis Buckner, Miss Bertha Westbrook, Mr. James Valsame, and Mr. Coyte Lanier. Mrs. Nell Williams, of the Coats faculty will spend the holidays with friends in Atlanta Ga. Mr. Cecil Fuquay, who Is making his home at Carolina Beach, is spending a few days at Coats. The Coats P. T.'A. held it’s reg ular monthly meeting in the school auditorium on Thursday evening Dec. 13, at seven thirty o’clock. A program of Christmas music was rendered by the members of the eight grade classes, sponsored by Mrs. Mattie Highwill and Mrs. Ray Coon. The High School Band play ed several numbers. An unusually large number of parents attended. During the social hour refresh ments were served. Mrs. Mary Stephenson and Mrs. Nell Williams were hostesses. After the sing ing of several Christmas Carols, and a number of interesting games dancing was enjoyed during the re mainder of the evening. The hos tesses served cookies, nuts and punch. Miss Jerry Cobb entertained the Beta Club at her home in Dunn on Tuesday evening.
