ALICE PURDIE
■■ Now Alice, your picture finally did get in, the paper, didn't it. Mice'.,
oiother told Mr. Marks the other day that she was afraid Alice would
wear her shoes out meeting the Daily Record delivery boy, if her picture
8008 didn’t get in the paper..
Alice, as you see, is a pretty blonde, and she is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Edward Purdie. She lives at 603 W. Pearsall Street. She ha.
a big brother named Edward, and a mighty pretty sister named
Susan, and both of them came to school over here several years ago
They still liek to come back to see Mrs. Marks once in a while, and
talk over old times.
Alice has a white persian cat for a pet. and last year her cat had
some baby kittens, but those kittens sure had bad luck. One of them
even got under Mrs. Purdie’s car and got run over. Alice says that she
told the kitten not to get in the road, but it just did anyway. It was
bad for the kitty, but we beleive it was a good safety lesson for Alice.
Alice has a nice disposition, and :s a lot of help to Mrs. Murks
Sometimes she talks mighty loud, and has to be told to lower her voice
but she is getting a lot better about that. She is always nice about
trying, when Mrs. Marks reminds her of it she just gets so busy
playing and having fun that she forgets but that’s no more than can
be expected of five-year-olds, is it, Alice? All the children like to play
with Alice, and she “mothers” some of the smaller ones. She is a
mighty nice little girl. {
