JOINT HOSTESSES
Misses Ann Johnson, Leah Phelps,
and Dorothy Hasty were associate

Miss Lillian Parrish, vice presi

browsing white-faced Herefords,
past the pine trees that Ickes had
planted—l thought of a great war
rior for human liberties and public
honesty, who, though he still re
fused to quit, already had fought
his last battle. I know that I
should never see Harold Ickes alive
again.

purpose of special memberships is
two-fold it provides away to hon
or a member, and at the same time
add ta the funds to carry on Use
work of the Woman’s Division of
Christian Service. A gift can be
only a symbol. That is what a
special membership is, a symbol
of the esteem and appreciation that
the donor feels for the person to
wtuwn the membership us presented.
One could net more appropriately
honor a friend who is deeply In
terested in the work of the
church than to present that friend
with a life membership. The money,
$31.00, sent in to the division trea
surer for the membership is in
vested in schools, homes, and other
projects to make possible more
abundant hying ■ tot many people
around the world. Every God
given faculty was bestowed for a
purpose. The wings of the bird
were mr.de'not to Ue forever folded,
but to be exercised in darting
through the air. So with the gift
of teaching.. And now we honor
one who has exercised her fine
faculty of teaching in our Sunday
School."
