end, according to the records at
the Police Station.
Saturday at 8:25 p. m. Miss Faye
Jackson reported that she had just
run over a boy on a bicyele. Miss
Jackson, driving a 1951 Studebaker
south on Clinton Avenue, she said,
when Paul White, Jr., riding a
bicycle, crossed the road from the
vicinity of the rear door of the Hood
Memorial Church.
The boy rode the bicycle directly ;
into the path of her car, she said,
and she did not see him until just 1
before she struck him. At the Dunn j
Hospital it was determined that!
the bov’s Injuries were minor and
his bicycle was not badly damaged.!
Edward P. Hood reported that
he had parked his car beside the
Hood Drug Store and when he re
turned two hours later the car ■
had been stolen. The car was re- j
covered bv the State Highway
Patel in Lillington.
Dunn policemen, too, were in
on the investigation of the stab-
I bing of Nancy Jane McLean, her
: daughter Carrie and a neice Mary.

pital. when the victims were brought. ;
there.
Another Negro, William H. Cutts !
of Angier Route 2 was brought to i
the Dunn hospital suffering from |
knife wounds in the left side of his i
j chest. He said the cutting occurred -
j between Jody’s Place in Angier and
j the highway. Angier police are in
; vestigating the occurrance.
Another assault . which called
i police to the hospital was that of
; Annie Nance, who told officers that
| she had been hit over the head
with a table lamp at her home by
Richard McLean.
At 8:45 p. m. yesterday, police
were called to investigate a wreck
at the intersection of Edgerton and
Ellis. They found that a 1951
Chevrolet, driven by Leslie H. Wood,
Jr., and owned by H. M. Moigan,
both of Lillington, had been hit
bv a 1951 Henry J, driven by Royal
V. Porter and owned by Paul Por
ter, both of Route 1 Newton Grove.
Wood told the officers that he
had stopped for the stop sign and
Porter had run into him. Damage
to the Chrevrolet was $lO and to |
the Henry J, sls. Porter was
charged With drunken, careless and
reckless driving and damage to
property.
