Rites Tuesday For
Rosebaro Woman
Mrs. Laura Smith, 79, passed aWay
at 11 am. Sunday at the home of
Taylor Smith near Roseboro. She
had been In declining health for
several months. Funeral services will
be held at the Bprlng Branch Bap
tist Church in Mmgo Township
Tuesday at 11 a.m.
The body will lie in state an hour
before the service. The Rev. Dennis
Wright will officiate at the funeral
and burial will follow In the church
cemetery. Mrs. Smith is survived
by a grandson, Dowell Smith of San.
ford; and several nieces and neph
ews.

Civic Leader Dies
At Roseboro Home
Daniel E. Caison, 67, prominent
businessman and civic leader of
Roseboro, died at his home at 10
a.m. Sunday after a brief Illness.
Funeral services were conducted
Monday at 3:30 p.m., at the Rose
boro Baptist Church with the Rev.
O. N. Ashley, pastor, and the Rev.
J. Paul Edwards, pastor of the Rose,
boro Methodist Church, officiating.

Berkley Barbour, 46, of Benson,
died in Dunn Hospital Saturday at
7:30 a.m., following a heart ailment.
Funeral services were held Sunday
at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Free Will
Baptist Church, conducted by the
Rev. David Capps, the Rev. G. M.
Talley and the Rev. Mr. Simmons.
Burial was in the Dixon family
cemetery. Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. Vergie Barbour; one son, Da
vid, and one daughter, Laura Kay,
both of the home.
