That tor the pur pose ol this Ordinance the toilow „ tag definitions shall apply unless •the content clearly indicates an other meaning or unless elsewhere expressly stated. A. The term “garbage" shall mean every accumulation ol ani mal or vegetable food-stuff that attends the preparation, consump tion, desdtog-in; or storage ol . meats, fish, towl, truit or vegeta- . B The term "rubbish” shall . mean printed matter, paper, paper e board, pasteboard boxes, rags, straw, and au other combustible material not included under the term “garbage". C. The term “refuse” shall mean and include any waste product which is composed of such mate rials as garbage, sweepings, trash. Utter, animal matter from kitchens, dining rooms, market* food estab lishments or other places dealing to or handling meat, fowl, fruits, grain, shrub trimmings, grass clip ® pings, brick,’ plaster, or. other waste matter resulting from the demoli tion, alteration or construction of building* aociuDhteted waste ma ‘ terlals, cans, containers, tires, Junk, or other substance Which may be a nuisance. i f v D. CONSTRUCTION | OR DEMOLITION OF BUILD INGS. Every person, building con tractor, or sub-contractor engaged in the construction, repair or demolition of any building or structure or part thereof, shall remove and dispose of, in an au thorized manner from any street, alley, gutter, park, sidewalk, curb ing, curb space, any public way or any premises not owned by him , all waste matter or rubbish depos , ited thereon in connection with that portion of the repair, con ; struction or demolition work under , his special or general supervision. A. Such refuse, waste matter and i rubbish shall be cleaned up, re ' moved, and disposed of in a sani ! tary manner within seven days of • the final cessation of work on such , building or structure unless spacif i ically authorized by the Building In spector or Superintendent of Sani -1 tation. Portable metal receptacles of standard galvanized, water tight nor more than 33 gallons capacity. Officiating was the Rev. A. B. Stephenson, of Wil son Mills, pastor of the church, assisted by the Rev. Forest Max well, of Erwin. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Vestel Lee Wood; two sons, Allan, and Tommie: two daughters, Linda Fay and Wanda Ann, all of the home, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Law rence W. Wood of Benson, Route 2- three brothers. Lawrence W. Jr. Cleatus and Billie Ray, all of Benson, Route 2. Six sisters, Mrs. Robert Lee of Dunn, Route 2, Mrs. Raymond Noles and Mrs. Delma Adams, both of Benson. Route 2, Mrs. Vernell Tanner and Mrs. Parlia Parker, both of Raleigh, and Wilma Gray Wood of Benson, Route 2. Mr. Wood a farmer and life-long resi dent of the McLamb crossroads section. The occupant Shall be responsible for furnishing the necessary Containers and com plying with the ordinance as to their proper use. 6. Trash or debris resulting from sweeping or deeming the floors of such business establishments must be picked up by appropriate meth ods and placed in approved con tainers. The occupant of any house, aparUgfijht, or part of a house uspd as a separate place of abode shah cause all garbage collected therein or arising from the use thereof to be placed in water-tight, rodent proof and dog-proof receptacles of the type specified by this ordinance. 2. Occupants must furnish as many approved receptacles as need ed to hold at least one (1) week’s accumulation of garbage.- 3. Receptacles must have well fitting lids so as to make them rain-proflf. The lids are to be chained, or tied with, ropes to meta or wooden stakes higher than the container so that the lid wiQ not blow away from the area and be lost or destroyed. Where lids have been previously lost, .damaged or destroyed they axe to be replaced ; with appropriate, metal or wooden lids. - S--' ■' 4.
