The new play being practicedrby the Little Theatre group promses THE DAILY RECORD, DUNN, K tt Ryals Funeral To Be Thursday Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Red Hill Free Will Baptist Church between Coats and Erwin for Wade Henry Ryals, 32, of Er win, Route 1, victim of an accident that occurred here Tuesday morn ing at Register Brothers Lumber Company. Ryals, a truck driver for the com pany, was killed when a load of lumber rolled on him. Officiating at the services will be Rev. J. D. Capps of Benson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. HARNETT NATIVE Mr. Ryals was a native and life long resident of Harnett, son of Mrs. Myrtle Reardon Ryals and the late Everette Ryals. Surviving are his mother: two brothers, Robert Ryals of Dunn, Route 3, and Howard Ryals of Er win, Route 1: two sisters, Mrs. Leola Ryals of Erwin, Route 1, and Mrs. Lucille Stewart of Erwin, Route 1. Harnett Drive Now Underway W. K. Sexton and Selwynn O’Quinn, who are heading the Red Cross fund drive for the Harnett County chapter, today praised the cooperation they have received throughout the county and reported the ground work has been com pleted for a county-wide solicita tion. The Fellowship Club of Coats has' accepted responsibility for conduct ing the campaign in Grove town ship. The Kiwanis Club of Angier will do the samfe in Black R:ver township. The Rotary Club will be in charge of the Lillington solici tation. Mrs. T. Pope and Mrs. Hector Green will direct the fund drive in Neill’s Creek township. Previously announcement has been made that Worth Lee Byrd will supervise the drive in Anderson Creek and Ste wart’s Creek townships, and J. H. Withers in Upper Little River. J. L. Spivey, Shawtown. Bost, manager of Erwin Mills, and R. S. Kelly, cot ton buyer. The Panama Canal is 50.53 miles long. It was opened to traffic April 15, UU. to be a “dUly." They hope to have it perfected by the latter party of March and we can hardly wait. It takes a lot of time and hard work to put something like this over and so far the results have been won derful. The response from the town as a whole certainly shows appreciation for the efforts of the Dunn Little Theatre. May it go forward!
