The annual Stunt Night was held Thursday, March 20 in Linden High School under the sponsorship of the Junior Class. A capacity crowd was on hand to applaud more than one hundred participants. The competition was divided jnto two groups, the elementary division and the high school division. The blue ribbon in the elementary di vision went to the second, third and fourth- grades for their Circus which was directed by Mrs. J. H. Sawyer and Mrs. A. M. Stephen son. 'The tred'-rmbott "Went tb the sixth and seventh grade stunt di rected by Mrs. C. Wayne Collier. In the senior high school divi sion the senior class captured the blue ribbon with a pantomlne call ed “Love Nest” directed by C. Wayne Collier. The red ribbon went to the junior class for a mock wed ding service called “I Do” directed j by Miles Buok. The class officers for the year are: Herlott Wilkins, president; Jerry Burke- vice-president; Doug las Warren, secretary-treasurer. GODWIN-TOUCKTON Miss Eula Mae Godwin, of Linden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Godwin, and Dewey Touchton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Touchton of Jasper, Fla., were married Satur day night In Parker’s Grove Meth odist Church at 8 o'clock. The Rev. D. A. Petty- officiated at the ceremony. Southern smilax and fern provid ed a background for seven branched vandelabra holding cathedral tap ers nad floor baskets of white glad ioli were used. 1 Miss Dorothy Davis, pianist, and Miss Lettie Lou Davis, vocalist, pre sented the wedding music. The bride and groom entered to gether unattended. The bride wore a white suit with blue accessories. Her corsage was of red carnations. Mrs. Touchton is a graduate of Linden High School and Loulsburg College. Sgt. Touchton is stationed at Fort Bragg. After a short honey moon they will make their home in Spring Lake.
