“And a good time was had by

mndHt *er hbrnfon Irir '
Wine Street Ext.
The party honored two members
whose birthdays occurred this mon
th: Mrs. Melia Core and Mrs. Nora
Weeks.
The highlight of the party was
an old fashioned spelling bee. The
two honored guests, captained the
twev. teams and Mrs. Melia Gore’s
team was the victors.
Another game played was a hand
shaking game with paper bags as a
handicap tied over the hands. The
finding of names of fowls, animals
or insects in the words “Happy
Birthday Melia and Nora” proved
to be a real trial of ingenuity.
Refreshments of gingerbread cup
cakes tapped with whipped cream
and ceffee were served to the fol
lowing members: Mrs. Melia Core,
Mrs. Nora Weeks, Mrs. Margaret
Johnson, Mrs. Lona Strickland, Mrs.
Alice Langston, Mrs. Ora Godwin.
Mrs. Grace Jackson, Mrs. Liel
Weeks and Miss Mamye Weeks.
After the refreshments were ser
ved the hostess presented Mrs, Core
and Mrs. Weeks each with a gift
of double strand pearls.
