The dining room table was cen
tered with the three tiered cake
topped bv a miniature bride and
groom. Ribbons knotted with sweet
peas were pulled from the rak“
by the attendants. At each end of
the table, silver candelabra had
been placed into floral arrange
ments of w hite sweet peas, snap j
dragons. Silver compotes held nuts
and mints.
The first shoe of cake was
in traditional fashion by the bri
dal couple and completed by Mrs.
O.' W. Godwin, Sr., mother of the
bride. Mrs. A. F. Furr, mother of
the groom, poured punch. Nuts,
mints and ice cream in the shape
of wedding slippers, were served
by Miss Margaret Godwin, Miss
Connie Hester, Miss Hilda Simpson,
Miss Betty Talley, and Miss Nora
Ellen Faulkner.
The gift loom was attractively
set up and decorated.

Honored Friday
At Dessert Bridge
, Miss Elvira Massengill, who on
April 26 will become the bride of
Mr. Dick Taylor of Muleshoe. Tex
as. was honored at dessert bridge
oh Friday night at eight o’clock.
Miss Katherine Taylor was hostess
for the event.
I The Taylor home was lovely for
the occasion with arrangements of
Spring flowers. On the piano was
a large bouquet of white iris and
spirea. Another attractive arrange
ment was composed of white spirea.

When the guests arrived, covers
were laid for dessert. The honoree
found her place marked with a
novel corsage of a wedding band
showered with lily of the valley.
Each guest received a miniature
corsage fashioned identically to that |
of the bride. The sweet course con
sisted of lemon tarts, salted pecans, |
and coffee.

evening at a dinner party in the
General Lee Room of Johnson’s
Restaurant by her aunt Miss Bessie
Massengill and Miss Mildred Hart
sock of Wilson.
Miss Massengill who will be mar
ried to I,t. Dick Tavior Saturday
was presented a lovely purple or
chid from the co-hostesses and
crystal in her chosen pattern.
The dinner table was appropria
tely decorated for the party with a
lovely floral arrangement as a cen

silver candelabras. The menu con
sisted of minted grapefruit, turkey
timbales, parsley potatoes,. buttered
broccoli, iced tea, tossed salad, hot
rolls and bridal ices.
