CLARENCE CANNADY FETES MERRY MATRONS CLUB AND GUESTS Mrs. Clarence Cannady gracious ly entertained Thursday evening '7 when members of the Merry Ma trons Canasta Club and five guests met at the Cannady home at eight o’clock for an enjoyable evening of canasta. Red verbena in an attractive bou quet predominated in the flower arrangements in the living room of the Cannady home where four tables of canasta were in play. Cheese bubbles and open faced sandwiches were passed among the players during the game and as- V. ter play was completed a delicious * salad plate of chicken salad with deviled eggs, pickles and olives was served with iced tea. Mrs. Loroman Dupree, Mrs. Woody Myers, Mrs. Bob Caudle. Mrs. Billy Pope and Mrs. David Adams were guests of the club. Upon arrival Miss Jackson was presented a corsage of white car nations by the hostesses. Mixed summer flowers were used throughout the home and a green and white color scheme was car ried out in refreshments. Several appropriate games were played, after which gifts from the guests were presented to the bride elect. Around thirty-five guests were present. Miss Cameron Is Wed To Mr. Kelly Saturday Miss Elois Cameron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Vance Cameron of Jonesboro Heights, Sanford, be i came the bride of Charles Kelly, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Char les Kelly of Olivia Saturday af ternoon at five o'clock. The mar riage took place at the Barbecue Presbyterian Church. The Rev. T. E. Nelson of Olivia, pastor of the church, conducted the double ring ceremony. Miss N-a wita ' Page, pianist, and Miss Cor nelia Thomas, soloist, presented a program of wedding music. The bride wore a navy blue suit with pink hat, blouse and gloves. She wore a corsage of purple or chids. Her mother wore a blue dress with matching hat and a corsage of pink rosebuds and lilies-of-the valley. Mrs. Leonard Rogers, aunt of the bridegroom, wore a suit of blue with a matching hat and her cor sage was also of pink rosebuds. The ushers were Earl Thomas of Olivia and Lynn Rogers of Jones boro Heights. Immediately fallowing the cere mony, the bridal couple received their guests in the vestibule of the church, and then left for a wed ding trip to Washington, D. C., and other northern points of interest. Mrs. Kelly is an honor graduate of the Benhaven school at Olivia, and now holds a secretarial posi tion with Cole Pontiac Co. in San ford. Mr. Kelly is engaged in far ming and he and Mrs. Kelly will reside at Olivia. JOHN R. ROWLAND of Wilson will graduate from Atlantic Christian College Sunday May 5 with an A. B. degree in science. Mrs. Rowland is the former Catherine Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy J. Brown of Dunn. She attended Dunn high school, and was graduated from Peace College. At Atlantic Christian College, she was president of the Science Club, and a member of Sigma Tau Chi sorority. Mr. Rowland is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Rowland of Louisburg. He served with the Marines, spending some time in the Pacific during World War 11. He received his education at Emory & Henry College, Louisburg College, and Atlantic Christian College. He is a member of Sigma Alpha fraternity. He is now em ployed by Cargill, Inc. In Wilson.
