WEST FCX Building 1 Williams Rites Conducted Sunday J’ ri'on W. (Jut) Williams, aged "0. died at his home on Route 5. Dunn early Saturday morning. Mr Williams was born in Cum berland County, but made his home in Sampson County most of his life. He was the son of the lat° Alexander and Katie Pope Williams. He had been in ill health for seve ral years, and seriously ill for the past two months. Funeral services were held Sunday at three p. m. from the Stormy Run Church with the Rev. Charlie Lee officiating. Assisting was Elder Les ter Lee. Burial was in the church cemetery and the body lay in state for one hour prior to the services. Surviving Mr. Williams are his wife. Mrs. Hattie Tart Williams of Dunn. Rt. 5; one son. J. W. Will iams. Dunn. Rt. s': three daughters. Mrs. Thurmond Norris Rt. 1. God j win. Miss Ludie Williams. Rt. 5. Dunn, and Mrs. J. W. Wagstaff. Charles Wood Died Thursday Charles Ray Wood. 29, of Ben son. Route 2. died unexpectedly at 11:30 Thursday night. Funeral ser vices were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock f om the home of his mother, Mrs. Renna Wood. Benson. Route 2, and burial followed in the Wood family cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. Joe R. Puckett of Smithfield. assisted by the Rev. E. C. Keller of Dunn. Surviving in ad dition to his mother, are five sis ters. Mrs. Talmadge Lee. Mrs. Day ton Lee. Mrs. Huge Lee. and Lois Wood all,of Benson,-Route. 2. and Mrs. G. C. McLamb of Newton' Grove. Route 2: one brother - . Ed ward Wood of Benson. Route 2. ■ HALLOWE’EN CARNIVAL The Buie’s Creek Parent-Teachers Association will sponsor their an- ! nual Hallowe’en Carnival on Fri day. October 31 at the High School building. Supper will begin at 5:30 , p. m. Pies, cakes, hot dogs, candy, peanuts, popcorn, potato chips, pi mento cheese and chicken salad sandwiches will be served in abun dance.
