Miss Wagamon was presented a j corsage of white carnations and | the hosts gave her silver in her ; pattern. The Jernigan home was decor- I ated throughout with pretty flow- : ers. A lace cloth was used on the dining room table which was cen tered with an arrangement of white j intuns and w hite snapdragons l flanked by three-branched crystal ] candelabra with lighted yellow j tapers. Dinner was served buffet style with guests finding their places marked with attractive bridal place cards. The menu consisted of roast chicken and dressing, green peas, baby limas, mashed potatoes, near salad, carrot curls, olives, pickles, hot buttered biscuits, coffee, ice cream and cake. Approximately sixty five guests called. Miss Abernathy And Fiance Are Honored Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Coats and Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Cromartie Jr., were joint hosts when they enter tained at a coffee hour on Sunday afternoon from 3:30 until 5:00 o’- clock at the Coats home honoring Miss Nancy Abernathy and Mr. Charles Overman who will wed in December. Sharing honors were Miss Grace Herring and Kenneth Taylor and Miss Billye Pope and Mr. Billy Creel. Upon arrival, Miss Abernathy was presented with a corsage of yel low roses and white shredded chry santhemums. Identical yellow chry santhemum corsages were given to the other brides-elect and yellow rose bouttonnieres to the prospec tive grooms. The three couples were remembered with gifts of long stemmed silver dinner bells. A yellow and white color scheme was carried out in all of the ap pointments throughout the home. The dining room table was cover ed with yellow streamers and cen tered with an arrangement of yel low snaps and roses in a lovely sil ver urn. Yellow candles in silver holders completed the decorations. Mrs. A. B. Johnson, sister of the honoree, poured coffee and tea from one end of the table and refresh ments consisted of ices molded in the shape of yellow roses, decorated cake squares, nuts and mints. Around 30 guests called during the afternoon. Gay Eight Bridge Club Meets With Mrs. Betty Bass Mrs. Betty Bass entertained the newly organized Gay Sight Bridge Club at her home on W. Broad Street on Monday night at eight o’clock. Lovely white and yellow chrysan themums were artistically arranged In the rooms of the home. High score award was won by Mrs. George Williams, who was a guest for the evening. She was given a box of candy. Mrs. R. A. Duncan, Jr. scored second high and received bath powder. Cokes and sandwiches were pass ed during play and at the con clusion of play, a sweet course con sisting of devil’s foed cake, Ice cream and coffee was served.
