The bride, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. John Herring, will be given
in marriage by her father.
Tonight at 8 a stag party is
scheduled for Mr. Taylor at Hart
man’s in Durham. Host for the
occasion will be Conrad Johnston.
The bridesmaid’s luncheon will
be given at one o’clock Friday at
the Herring home. That night, Mr.
and Mrs. Clarence Lee Tart, with
their daughter, Mrs. Russell Fow-1

supper for the wedding party at the

sal, the cake cutting will be given j

At Buffet Supper
Mrs. C. D. Bain was hostess on
Tuesday evening at her home on
W. Broad Street when she enter
tained the Dorcas Bible Class of
the First Baptist Church at a
buffet supper and class clinic
meeting.
Guests arrived at 6:15 o’clock and
were greeted at the door by Mrs.
C. T. McGugan.
The Bain home was beautifully
decorated with arrangement of
fall flowers and the rooms were
thrown ensuite for the delightful
occasion.
Mrs. Bain invited the guests Into
; the dining room where Mrs. Jeff
Denny served chicken pot-pie, toss
ed salad, pickles, cinnamon apples
and hot biscuits. Mrs. Charles Skin
ner poured coffee and a dessert
course, lemon chiffon pie, complet
ed the menu. Assisting in serving
were Mrs. Claude McLean, Mrs.
Dutch Maynard and Mrs. McGugan.
The dining room table was cov
ered with an Irish linen cloth and
centered with a lovely arrangement
of wine whrysanthemums.
Immediately following the sup
per, the ladies adjourned to the
living room where a class clinic
was conducted. Mrs. Claude Mc-
Lean, president, gave the devo
tional. using 2 Timothy: 2-1 S as a
guilding thought.
During the business session, meet
ing places and co-hostesses for the
year were selected and various re
ports given. Al*o discuteed was
the planning of a Christmas ban
quet.
