THURSDAY AFTERNOON, NOVEMBER 13, 1952 Anderson Creek Chatter By KITTY SHAW Hallowe'en is over, but it will never be forgotten at A.C.H.S. It was a crowded night with the aud itorium packed and jammed! I guess we’ll never be able to thank all of the people who made it possible for our successful Car nival. Appreciate goes to the pop ularity contestants who worked many hard hours for the titles of Mr. and Mrs. Anderson Creek and Mr. and Miss Anderson Creek and the many friends who donated cakes for the cake walks and most of all to Mrs. Stephenson, our Jun ior class advisor. Mr. Koon. our principal, Mr. Matthews, Mrs. Nel lie Maye, all the school teachers and students and to all who at tended the Halloween Carnival many thanks for making it a big i success. The Carnival got underway with the introduction of the popularity contestants. Then the stunts which the 7th grade in the elementary i school won the prize for the best stunts. In high school the 12th grade won the prize for the best CHICKENS DRESSED WHILE YOU WAIT Wed. - Thurs. - Friday More and more housewives are using our new Dressing Service All you have to do is come in, pick out the chicken you want, watch us dress the chicken according to your specifications. I Local Painter Is Cut In Row Wallace West, Dunn Painter, is in the Hospital recovering from a number of knife wounds, allegedly inflicted during an argument by Lemon Lee. Lee was arrested after the affray and charged with assault with a j deadly weapon inflicting serious ( bodily injury and is being held with- ! out bond pending the outcome of West’s injuries. West was badly cut with a pen knife. His face was slit open down l THU DAILY RECORD, DUNN, N. O Buie's Creek F. H. A. Chapter Has Meeting The Buie’s Creek Chapter of the 1 F. H. A. met in the Home Ec. i Dept, with Mrs. Ralph Hales its chapter advisor. The meeting was called to order by our president, Kathyrn Hud -1 gins. We decided to give our Fa | shion Show at the December meet ing of the P. T. A. 1 We voted unaniniously to have a Square Dance on Friday, Nov. 14. at the X-egion Hut in Buie’s Creek. The public is cordially invited to attend. The admission charges will be 25c for girls and 50c for boys. The dance wil begin at 7 ;t)0. Helen Stafford, our Social Chair man will be in charge of the dance ; with Betty Dorman, Barbara Lu ; cas, and Martha Gregory helping ! her. We discussed having a Hobo Day, the . Fourth Thursday in November. The committee in charge of planning the Hobo Day Was | Sylvia Turlington, chairman. Rue Bell Harper, Carolyn Jones, Joyce ! Byrd, Celia Coates. The program presented by the officers of the F. H. A. was in the form of a mock F. H. A. meeting. Its purpose was to show us the correct Parliamentary purocedure of a meeting. We were then served refreshments consisting of cokes and cookies by Gretchen Matthews, Ann Weaves, Betty Sue Hardee, and Janet Will iams. The meeting was adjourned to meet again on December 3. 1952.
