Mrs. Cranford McMillan showed some unusual arrangements that she had made, which Were vo v beautiful and told how she had made them. Mrs. Clayton Williams gave some very helpful suggestions on “Fire place Accessories You Can Make.” Mrs. Wayne Lee led some games. Young Married Couple's Class Meets Friday The Young Married Couple’s Cla-s --of the First Baptist Church met a 8:30 on Friday night at the home c Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Wagstaff. During the business meeting whic h was presided over by the pre sident, Mr. Compton, a project for Thanksgiving was discussed. The group decided to prepare boxes of food for needy families. They also planned to do the same thine at Christmas. Plans for a Christmas party were discussed. THE C. D. HUTAFFS HONOR BRIDAL COUPLE WITH BUFFET SUPPER Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Hutaff and Charles Hutaff, Jr. entertained at a delightful buffet supper on Friday evening at seven o’clock honoring Miss Biilye Pope and Mr. Billy Creel, bridal couple of Saturday, November 29. A white orchid corsage was pre sented the honoree upon arrival. The: living room of the Hutaff home was beautifully decorated with floral arrangements of mixed fall flowers, and in the dining room a pink and white oolor scheme pre dominated. The long table was covered With a handsome white cut work cloth and held a centerpiece of pink snaps, roses and carnations, flanked by triple silver candlabra holding pink tapers. Similar ar rangements graced the buffet and ARTS CLUB MEMBERS HEAR TALK ON ALASKA FRIDAY Mrs. Mac Watson and Mrs. Thur man Ennis entertained members of the Olde Towne Arts Club at a one o’clock luncheon Friday at the home of Mrs. Watson. Special guests for the occasion were Mrs. j J. S. Royal, Mrs. O. L. Parker.! mother of Mrs. Watson, both of ! Clinton and Mrs. Jeff Denny. Outstanding dried arrangements! were used most effectively in the ’ living room of the Watson home, and holly, in a pottery vase on the desk, was suggestive of the ap proaching Christmas season. Yel low azalea mums were on the din ing room table and miniature bou quets of the mums centered the in dividual tables. The delicious three-course lunch eon consisted of vegetable juice cocktail ■ with crackers, tuna cass e ole, broccoli, deviled eggs, pine apple and cranberry salad, hot bis cuits, coffee, and pecan pie topped with whipped cream. Later Mrs. Watson introduced Mrs. Royal who presented a most interesting talk on her recent trip Oakdale Club Has Meeting The Oakdale Club met Nov. 12th at 7:30 o’clock In the club room with 11 members present. The meeting was called to or der by the president, Mrs. J. A Ennis. Members sang a song and repeated the Lord’s prayer. Plans were made for the Christ mas party and to paint the club room. Mrs. Alonzo Coats gave a dem onstration on Caring For The Sick The hostesses. Mrs. Garland Mat thews and Mrs. David Ennis ser ved refreshments. The meeting ad journed to meet again on Dec. IS. t*ms . Bridge Club met with Mr. and Mrs. R. A Duncan. Jr., for an enjoyable game. The Thanksgiving motif was car ried out ill the decorations in the. home with an arrangement . of fruits and nuts flanked by yellow candles gracing the dining room table. Compiling high score for the men was Billy Pope, who was rewarded with a tie. Mrs. Luther Turner re ceived a lovely scarf for ladies high and consolation, cards, went to Ed Wade. During the game, candy, nuts and cokes were enjoyed and at the con clusion of play, the hostess passed trays of assorted sandwiches, pick les. potato chips, brownies and coffee. HARTLEY HERE Pfc. Bobby Hartley, who lias been stationed at Biggs Air Force Base in El Paso, Texas, arrived in Dunn last Tuesday for a 30 day leave. He will go to Pittsburgh. California at the expiration of his leave. He is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fernie Hartley.
