(0 TUESDAY AFTERNOON, DECEMBER 23, 1952 Erwin Teen-Agers Hold Gala Dance The Erwin teen-age group en joyed a gala formal Christmas dance ill the Parish house Friday night from ten until one o'clock. A beautifully decorated and Righted tree cast a soft glow over the "ancers. During intermission coca-colas | and candy were sold in the Parish j house kitchen. Mae W. Holt, of Dunn, became the bride of Sgt. Amie Peterson Jr., sen cf Mr. and Mrs. Amie Peter son. Sr., of Crossroad, Mississippi. The vows were heard by the Rev. Forrest C. Maxwell, pastor of the church, and the couple exchanged rings. A background of greenery and poinsettlas was used. ; Miss Geraldine Matthews presen ted a a program of nuptial music ! at the organ and Mr. Abie Max | well sang "O Promise Me.” The bride, given in marriage by | her uncle, Thomas E. Wood, wore an original gown of bridal satin | and net with matching cape effect. i She wore lift mitts. Her fingertip , veil of illusion was attached to a headdress of net with clusters cl ' orange blossoms at either side. She i carried a white prayer book top ped with ca nations and centered ..itii a white orchid. Attending the bride as maid ol honor was Miss Nauiine Price. She wore a gown of blue net and car ried a bouquet cf red carnations. Best mail was Sgt. Stanley Norack who is stationed now at Fort Bragg. Ushers were Sgt. Jackie Drennon j of Fo: t Bragg and Jimmy Ammons i cousin of the bride. After the Christmas holidays the [ couple plan to visit his parents in Mississippi. For a short wedding j trip the bride chose a suit of grey j with b'ack accessories and the or- i chi* from her prayerbook. They' plan to make their home in Ohio, i Immediately following the core- ' mchy ati informal reception was held at the home of the bride's aunt. Mrs. A. L. Young in Dunn. Punch was poured by Mrs. Ernes tine Ammons, and Mrs. A. L. Young served cake. The wedding cake was three-tiered with a miniature bride and groom on top. Guests at the reception included members of the wedding party and special friends. Miss Bruton Has Christmas Party Miss Blanche Bruton entertained her piano pupils at a party in the 1 Grammar School auditorium j Thursday afternoon from 2:30 un- : til 3:30 o’clock. The group sang carols and Mis*? j Bruton served popsicles and cook- , ies. She also received many lovely gifts from her pupils. Those present were Woody Woodall.
