TUESDAY AFTERNOON, JANUARY 27, 1952 Teen Tattle Tales By LINDA AYCOCK “We hit the jackpot!" Ray! Rah! for good ole Dunn High! Yes sireee, we hit the jackpot with Coats! The games Tuesday night were thrilling for Dunn cause we won all three by pretty large margins. We haven’t won all three games of basketball in a lifetime it seems, but how we pulled all three out of the bag. No use telling you basketball players we’re proud and happy for you can see it’s plainly written all over our faces. Let’s see if we can’t do the same to Buie’s Creek Friday night. Hope everyone drags up a ride and beats it over to the brand new Campbell College gym to see the game. Shore do want a nice show ing and a lot of yelling to let our opponents know Dunn is really something. And I can say the cheer leaders are doing a fine job with the yells. Dunn's School spirit is almost revived so come on, folks, 1 STEWART Last Time Today DORIS DAY RAY BULGER in “APRIL IN PARIS ” also Inauguration Scenes i§ Wednesday & Thursday LOWS HAYWARD f PATRICIA MEDINA i in § “CAPTAIN PIRATE” also News Cartoon . Seems Frances Crumpler and Billy Barfield are still on speaking terms but the real man in her life is Ed Purdie. Also there are a few others who would like to be in his shoes. And while speaking of Crumplers Betty Byrd Crumpler hasn’t any trouble with the boys either. When she first came to Dunn she attract ed them like sugar does ants and had a different date most every night! But now I think she has settled down, recollected her thoughts, and decided on Frank Wilson for her beau. They seem to have the most of fun alwaj*. and never get mad. One question— How do they do it? Seems the teachers have decided that the second semester is the time to work, (Oh, how we disagree!) ,So now the teenagers are laden with enough homewors to supply an army. Looks like an other renaissance (rebirth of learn ing) for, Dunn cause the students of Dunn High are gonna start learn ing once again. Oh, I knew I should have studied for exams ! ! ! Every Sunday night a youth fellowship is held in the Baptist Church. In the basement after church a group of young people gather and play games, sing songs, or do a number of other things. Re*, freshments are served by members of the board of Deacons every Sun day night. Everyone has a wonder ful time and ends up going home from church with a load off their minds. We’d like to have more of the young folks (especially Bap tists) come and at least try us out. If you like it maybe you can start something similar in your church. At any rate come on down next Sunday night and see if you don’t have a marvelous time. Joyce Godwin is getting mail most everyday from Walter Byrd. Guess he’ll be as faithful as ever. Reminds me of another boy in the Air Force, William Moody. He seems pretty steady with his letters to Annette, Barefoot. Ain’t love grand,” Oh yes, by all means don’t j get writers’ cramp. Much happiness to Effie Lou and Lynwood Sills who were mar ried January 17th. Effie Lou look ed lovely and Lyn was as hand some as ever as they spoke the vows that made them one.
