W. R. Insho. The candles were lighted by Thom as Cameron, second assistant Cub master. | Cubs receiving pins were Larry I Odom, Barry Griffin, “Woody" Woodall. Ricky Stewart, Jimmy Stephens, Charles Tally, Jinlmy Bruton, Bert Cameron, and Ricky Odom. Mrs. Tye Stewart is den mother. Following the presentation of the pins, Dr. D. C. Woodall was ap pointed chairman of the Cub Pack adult committee. Mr. Cameron welcomed the par ents present and Mrs. James Ed ward Stephens, Mrs. Stewart, “Mike” Beard, Den Chief and Gor dan Ennis, Jr., explained what the letters C-V-B-S stand for. The ceremony closed with Mr. Insko giving each boy the Cub Scout handshake and congratula tions. PAGE FIVE Erwin Women Hold Prayer Day Rites Ladies of Erwin’s leading churches met in Bt. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Friday afternoon at four o’clock to observe the World Day of Prayer along with other women all over the world. The theme of the Service of Wor ship was "Walk as Children of Light” from Ephesians 9:8. The Rev. W. R. Insko, Rector Os St. Stephens gave a brief history of the beginning of the World Day of Prayer. Mrs. Byron Stevens, vice presi dent of the Woman’s Auxiliary of St. Stephens, presided over the service and those taking part, on the program were Mrs. Frank Ralph, Mrs. Edward Thomas, Jr., Mrs. W. O. Godwin, Mrs. Novell Suggs, Sr., Mrs. Gordon Ennis and Mrs. R. M. PhUlips. The offering was taken by Mrs. Insko and Mrs. B. G. Thomas. Mrs. J. K. Bruton was organist. SPENDS WEEKEND Hoffye Sewell of St. Mary’s School in Raleigh, spent the week end with her parents. OF DURHAM Julie Beard of the Watts’ Hos pital School of'Nursing in Durham was home for the weekend.
