were united In marriage at 8:00
oclock Tuesday evening, August
18. The double ring ritual was
used.
A simple arrangement of Oregon
fern balls on pedestals and branched
candelbra holding lighted candles
composed the church decorations.
At the close of the ceremony
Miss Mary Alice Ryals, niece of the
bride of Benson, sang as a bene
diction O, Perfect Love.
For the solemnlzatldn the bride
wore an ensemble of black velve
teen and Jersey featuring a trim of
rhinestones. Her del blue hat was ,
trimmed In blue pearls and acces
sories were of del blue. At her
shoulder she wore a white orchid.
Mrs. Ryals, mother of the bride,
wore a black crepe dress with dus
ty rose trim.
Mrs. White, a daughter of Mrs.
Vlra Ryals of Benson and the late
Archie T. Ryals was graduated from
Benson High school and from a
Dunn commercial school and has
business interests in Benson as'a
partner in the Ryals Brothers and
Barnes hardware and furniture
store.
Mr. White, a son of Mrs. T. F.
White of Pine Level and the late
Mr, White was graduated from
Strayer’s Business College in Rich
mond, Ta and served with the U. S.
Marine Corps during World War n.
He is associated with the Carolina
Packers in Smithfleld, and is cur
rently serving as mayor of Pine
Level for a third term.
Following a wedding trip to New
York the young couple will establish
residence in their recently complet
ed home in Pine Level.

election to be held on October 3rd, 1953 on the two questions of whether the State of North Carolkia
shall issue fifty million dollars-State of North Carolina School Plant Construction and Improvement
Bonds and twenty-two ndUion dollars State of North Carolina Mental Institutions Bonds. Under in
structions from the State Board of Elections the registration books for this special election will jbe open
on Saturday, SOptombor sth, 1953 at nine o'clock at the polling places, and remain open until sunset
on Saturday, September l9tfc. the various registrars in the county will be at theirpeWrfl'pfctto* for
registering voters on the three Saturdays of September sth, September 12th and September ifrfh.

Bridge Club Monday night as a
new member when Mrs. Ed Wade
entertained at her home. Mixed
summer flowers with red gladioli
and verbena predominating were
arranged in colorful bouquets.
When guests arrived they were
served delicious frosen peach salad
with iced tea. Later Mrs .Wade
passed coca-colas, and candy and
nuts were on the two tables.
High score prise for the club
members, a towel and washcloth
set, went to Mrs. Eugene Huggins,
pirs. R. A. Duncan Jr., was high
for the guests and she received a
hhvel drip Set for the kitchen. For
tallying low, Mrs. Dwight Rowland
was given individual candy dish
es. The traveling prise, wooden
spoons, went to Mrs. Lloyd Strick
land, and Mrs. Ella McLamb Kim
ball won the bingo prise, a mani
cure set.

outstanding.

ceived a gift of twin lipsticks. The
