GASTONIA, (IP) Firemen
brought flames from two derailed
railway tank cars under control
in a battle lasting more than three
hours early today, preventing pos
sible explosions that would have
endangered nea by homes. The fire
broke out when three tankers and
a box car of a north-bound Sou
thern Railway freight train jump
ed the track one block from the
station and within yards of a half
dozen residences. Two of the tank
