The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a wedding gown of lace over taffeta with a length sleeves and tiny lace-cover ed buttons down the front. Her 'fingertip veil Os French illusion I was chad to a laee tiara, ac ; f'entuatrd with orange blossom* She carried a white bride’s Bible topped with a white orchid. Miss Helen Marie Strickland of Dunn, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a street length gown of pink taffeta with a strap less bodice of net. She had a match |ing net stole and carried an arm I bouquet of pink roses with blue streamers. She wore an arrange- ment of orange blossoms and net In her hair. ' Miss Annie Jean Strickland, sis ter of the bride, and Mias Patrl j cia West, both of Dunn, were brides maids. Their gowns were similar to the honor attendant, except blue in color. They carried arm bouquets of yellow rose 3 with yellow and blue streamers and wore arrange [ ments of orange blossoms and net I for their head<tress. The best man was Robert War } ren Cannady of Dunn, brother of the groom. Ushers were C. H. Can nady of Elisabethtown, brother of the groom and Walter Maxton Strickland of Dunn, brother of the bride. The mother of the bride wore a blue lace dress over taffeta with white accessories and a corsage of white carnations. The groom’s mother wore a lav ender flowered nylon dress with lavender accessories and a corsage of white carnat'ons. Far her wedding trip, Mrs. Can nady wore a yellow linen dress with black and white accessories I and the orchid from her Bible. Mrs. Cannady is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Strickland of Dunn. She is a graduate of Mingo High School and is employed at Butler-Carroll Drug Co. in Dunn. Mr. Cannady is the ,son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Cannady of Dunn. He is a graduate of Dunn High School and operates Cannady’s Gro cery Store in Dunn. Mr. and Mrs. Cannady will make their home on W. Broad Street in Dunn. Wesleyan Service Guild Meets At I Chestnut Home Members of Wesleyan Service Guild met last night at the home of Mrs. Rodney Chestnut with Mrs. Jesse Capps associate hostess. The meeting was called to order by Mrs. J. Perry Jones, who asked for a report of the last meeting from Mrs. Maylon Parker, secre tary. Miss Libby Raye Cromartie I gave the financial report. 1 Following a business session, Mrs. Jones thanked the members for their cooperation during her term ’ of office and turned the meeting 1 over to the new president, Mrs. 1 Dwight Rowland, who graciously ' accepted the chair. The devotional and program were I 1 presented in the form of a candle ’ light pledge service and those tak ing part were Mrs. John Lewis, ! Mrs. Capps, Mrs. Preston Parker, Mrs. Rowland, Mrs. Jones and Miss r Cromartie. I At the end of the service the hostesses served sandwiches, sand tarts and iced drinks. The Chest nut home was decorated with at ' tractive bouquets of roses. ; Those members in attendance : were, Mrs. Earl Vann, Mrs. Sam Dowd, Mrs. Paul Hester. Miss Laura Bell, Mrs. John Lewis, Mrs. Ken neth Sloan, Mrs. J. P. Jones, Mrs v Preston Parker, Miss, Libby Raye Cromartie, Mrs. Dwight Rowland. Mrs Blanche Barefoot and Mrs. . . R. L. Crotoartle, Jr. MRS.
