Former Erwin Resident Marries A lovely setting of fern, floor baskets of white gladioli and chry santhemum and seven-branched candelabra formed the backglound for the Tuesday afternoon wedding of Mrs. Geraldine High of New port News, Virginia, formerly of Erwin, and Sgt. Cecil D. Baugh, also of Newport News. Reverend L Clyde Shepard, pas tor of the Erwin Accent Christian Church officiated at the five o’clock ceremony. Airs. D. C. Woodall, pi anist, gave a program of nuptial music. The bridal couple entered the Church together. The bride wore a strapless cocktail dress'of pink taf feta embroidered in white lace with matching fitted bolero and matching hat. Her corsage was of orchids. Airs. Baugh is employed by tur ner’s Stores in Newport News and Sgt Baugh is stationed with the U. 8. Army at Fort Eustlce, Virginia. For traveling the bride chose a beige suit with matching accessories and her wedding corsage. After a short wedding trip Sgt.. and Mrs. Baugh will he at home In ReWport News. Out-of-town guests for the wed ding included Air. and Airs. Robert Murray and Airs. Evangeline Mos aer of Durham. Book Club Has Supper Meeting The Grace Boat Book Club held its annual picnic for husbands and rite on Thursday evening at 6:30 Uie Parker - Boat Pond. Former members of the club and invited guests were Miss Lena Mc- Neill, Mrs. R. A. McConnaughey of Red Springs, Dr. and Airs. G. L. Hooper and Mrs. Ed Smith of Dunn and Mr. E. R. CHURCH MEETING Members of the Woman’s Home and Foreign Mission Society of the Advent Christian Church held their regular meeting on Thursday eve ning at the church. During the business session most of the time was spent in making final plans and preparation for the group attending the denomina tional supported Camp Dixie near Wilmington at Ogden, N. C. Present were Mrs. Mary Bales, Airs. Lydia Williams, Airs. Ella Best, Mrs. Louise Price, Airs. Edith Lee, Mry Lilly Byrd, Mrs. Ida Beasley, Mrs. Ada Bennett, Mrs. Lizzie Dal ton, Airs. Nora Suggs, Mrs, Les sie Ennie and Mrs. Clyde Shepard. Plans were also made to send a box to their missionary in India. Air. and Airs. Stacy Ousley, the former Carol Beth McLean, and in fant son are moving to Dunn to make their home. Air. Ousley is on the faculty at Erwin High School. Mrs. Haywood Lucas and son, Wade Lucas of Raleigh went to Ft. Royal to attend the granduation of Airs. Lucas’ grandson. Mrs. V. C. Swanson and Airs. James Adams left Friday to attend the granduation of Mjs. Swanson’s daughter, Mrs. Sarah van Schoick, at Agnes Scott in Atlanta, Georgia. Godwin. News Air. and Airs. Murphy Holland, Air. and Airs. J. The Daily Vacation Bible School of Blacks Chapel and Godwin Presbyterian Church begin Thurs day, June 3rd at the Presbyterian Church, and will continue through June Uth.
