the bride wore a waltz-length gown
of white silk taffeta with an em
pire waistline. The scalloped neck
line and the sleeves were outlined
and embroidered with seed pearls.
Her veil of illusion was attached to
a cap of white silk taffeta with
seed pearl design. She carried a
cascade of white phalaenopsis or
chids.
Mrs. Charles H. Smith of Ar.
lington, Virginia was matron-of
honor. She wore a waltz-length
I dress of pink silk shantung with
scalloped neckline and sleeves out
lined and embroidered in crystal
beads. She wore matching cap and
mitts and carried a bouquet of
green phalaenopsis orchids.
Tom Waggoner of Dunn was his
brother’s best man. Ushers were
Edward Stevens of Only, Virginia,
John Oates of Fayetteville, Mack
Bissette of Wilson, Thad Pope, Bill
Barefoot, and Bill Thompson, all
Os Dunn.
The bride’s mother wore a navy
blue silk shantung dress with white
cowl collar and white accessories.
Her corsage was of pink orchids.
The groom’s mother was attired
in a mint green silk shantung dress
Debbie Warren Is
Guest Os Honor At
Birthday Party
Miss Debbie Warren, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Warren, was the
guest of honor at a birthday party
Tuesday afternoon at four o’clock
at Tyler Park. Debbie was four
years old.
On the refreshment table was a
lovely basket of mixed summer
flowers sent by Debbie’s grandmo
ther, Mrs. Gardner. The children
were served ice cream and cake
in colorful party plates and were
given favors of balloons and suck
ers.
During the afternoon the chil
dren enjoyed playing on the swings
and a special treat was a ride on
the miniature train for each child.
Mrs. Frank Steele of Lillington,
Mrs. Luby Warren, and Mrs. Ralph
Johnson assisted Mrs. Warren with
he party.
Miss Katy Tyler, who is soon
leaving to make her home in Rich
mond. was remembered by Debbie
with a going-away gift.

Her accessories were white and she
wore the orchids from her bouquet.
The couple were both graduated
from Dunn High School. Mrs. Wag
goner attended Queen’s College in
Charlotte and is a 1954 graduate of
Duke University in Durham. She
is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi
sorority.
Mr. Waggoner attended Wake
Forest College where he was a
member of Kappa Alpha fraternity.
He is now serving in the United
States Coast Guard.

Between progressions the hos
tess served ham and chicken salad
sandwiches, pickles, potato chips,
spiced crabapples, sandtarts and
iced drinks.
At the end of the evening when
scores were tallied, Mrs. Gerald
Mann was presented a waste bas
ket for high score among the club
members. Novel sets of ash trays
were given to Mrs. Eugene Huggins
for guest high and Mrs. R. A. Dun
can Jr. for being the winner in a
game of bingo.
Members playing were Mrs. Ger

Mrs. Hoover Adams, and Mrs. Paul
