Traditional wedding marches were used. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Q. Beard of Erwin, was given in marriage by her father. She wore an original gown of Chan tilly lace over satin, designed and fashioned by her mother. The gown featured a portrait neckline em broidered with seed pearls, fitted bodice pointed in the front, long sleeves with Calla Lily points at the hands and a full bouffant skirt ending in a cathedral •train. Her fingertip veil of imported illusion fell from a crown of orange blos soms. Her only ornament was a sin gle strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. She carried a 16th Century, Church pf England Prayer Book covered with white satin and topped with a bouquet of Sweet heart roses and Stephanotis cent* ered with three purple throated white orchids. Mrs. Joan Strickland, cousin of the bride was matron of honor. She wore a Boor length gown pf pink organdy over taffeta fashioned with a fitted bodice, Peter Pan collar and full skirt with pin tucks at the hipline. She wore a picture hat of the same material as her dress. Her arm bouquet was of red ro ses matching the velvet band on her hat: Miss Barbara Woodworth, Miss Martha Lee and Miss June Ruth Tew of Erwin and' Mrs. Delmos Core of Greensboro were brides maids. They wore dresses identical to that of the honor attendant, matching picture hats and arm bouquets of red roses. Their gowns were also designed and fashioned by the mother of the bride. Little Miss Becky Barnes of Er win was flower girl. She wore a gown and hat fashioned like those of the bridesmaids and carried a basket of red rose petals. ■ Honorary bridesmaids were.
