Mr. Westbrook is the oldest member of the club from stand point of service and has never missed a meeting in his more than 28 years of service. U*r Ask Tost OmM Mrs. Lee Sandlin Entertained At Bridge Monday Mrs. Lee Sandlin entertained at a “Come As You Are” bridge par ty Monday night for members and guests of the Gay Eight bridge ! club. Jonquils made the Sandlin j home more cheerful for the occa- J sion. ( During the evening, Mrs. Sand lin served a delicious congealed salad with pimento cheese sand wiches, potato chips, and coffee. Mrs. R. A. Duncan Jr. who com piled the evening’s highest score among the club members was given candy. Mrs. Marvin Godwin was the runnerdp as well as being the dinner in a gatne of bingo. She also received candy and a guest towel. Mrs. Corky Creteni, who was the winner among the guests, re ceived a white collar. Guests for the evening were: Mrs. Vaughn Hutaff, Mrs. Jim Yearby, and Mrs. Corky Creteni. Members playing were: Mrs. Woody Myers, Mrs. Garland Roe buck, Mrs. R. A. Duncan Jr., Mrs. Marvin Godwin and Mrs. Ed Wade. VISIT PARENTS Mrs. iHal Jernigan and children are visiting her parents in Ashe i boro this week. IN WILSON Mr. add Mrs. L. C. Godwin and daughter Belva of Fayetteville and Misses Blanche and Pauline Bell spent Sunday in Wilson with Mr. and Mrs. Godwin’s daughter, El aine, who is a student at Atlantic Christian College there. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lee. Mrs. Best Was Honoree At Birthday Dinner Mrs. E. L. Best of Dunn was honored on the occasion of her 70th birthday with a celebration Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Louis Mitchell and Mr. Mitchell in Raleigh. The lovely birthday din ner was a complete surprise to Mrs. Best. A white linen cloth centered the table, while mixed early spring flowers decorated the living room and the dining room of the Mit chell home. Guests in addition to Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Best of Dunn were Mr. and Mrs. Claude Martin of Golds boro, Mrs. Edwin Dean of Wilson and Sidney Edwards of Cherry Point. AT WRIGHTSVILLE Mr. and Mrs. Earl Vann and daughter, Virginia, and Linda Wil liams spent Saturday and Sunday at Wrightsville Beach.
