PAGE FOUR Mrs. Parker Was Shower Honoree Friday Night Mrs. Curtis Parker was honored at a cradle shower Friday night given by Mrs. Jim Parker and Miss Merlie Parker at the home of Mrs. Jim Parker on Dunn, Rt. 3. The Parker home was beauti fully decorated with arrangements of spring flowers including red roses and jonquils. Upon arrival, the honoree was presented a corsage of pink and blue flowers. During the evening, appropriate games were played with prizes going to Mrs. Watts Turner and Mrs. Johnny Parker. Mrs. Parker, the honoree, re ceived many lovely gifts. The hostesses served refresh ments at the close of the evening consisting of jello topped with whipped cream, cookies and Coca- Colas. Those attending in addition to the honoree were Mrs. Beatrice Williams, Mrs. David Avery, Mrs.* J. H. Parker, Mrs. Watts Turner, Mrs. Leonard Johnson, Mrs. Max ine Parrish, Mrs. J. D. Parker, Mrs. Joyce Denton, Mrs. Cora Parker, Miss Merlie Parker, Miss Doris Parker, Mrs. Violet Murray, Mrs. Nathan Fish, Mrs. Mamie Murray, and Mrs. Martha Avery. Crocker-Rambeau Married In Fort Bragg Chapel Miss Hilda Rambeau and Sgt. Pickens Crocker of Ft. Bragg were married recently in the Main Post Chapel at Fort Bragg. Mrs. Crocker is the daughter of Mrs. B. G. Rambeau anl the late Mr. Rambeau of Chalybeate Springs. Sgt, Crocker is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. S. Crocker of Elba, Alabama. Chaplain Thomas L. McMinn, Jr. officiated at the' double ring cere mony. Mrs. Crocker was formerly em ployed by the N. C. Motor Vehicle Dept, of Raleigh. Sgt. Crocker has served with the Armed Forces for the past six years, and the couple are now mak ing their home at Fort Bragg. ' Plainview Club Met At Tew Home The Plainview Home Demonstra* tion Club held its monthly meet ing Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Fred Tew with 17 members and two visitors present. Dawson entertained the seniors of Mingo School on Thursday night at eleven o’clock following their play rehearsal in the Home Economic Department of the school. The room* was decorated for the occasion in white and green carry ing out the class colors.' The table was covered with a cutwork cloth, lovely arrangement cf jonquils and fern was placed in the center of the table and was flanked by crystal candelabra hold ing white tapers. The punch bowl was placed on one end of the table and the cake on the other. Green and white satin bows with stream ers marked the coiners of the table. Mrs. Dawson, assisted by Misses Olive Herring and Pat MeLamb erved refreshments consisting of individual cake squares, nuts, mints, and punch. “Our Best to You’’ was heard from eleven till twelve. Mrs. Maynard Coats honored her daughter, Sandra, on her sixteenth birthday Wednesday night, March 9, with a birthday party. Mrs. W. M. Wood, Mrs. Garland Coats, Miss Jean Creech and Mrs. Alvis Ennis assisted Mrs. Coats with the refreshments which consisted of chicken salad sandwiches, cup cakes, nuts and soft drinks. Those who attended were Joyce Jones, Betty Lea Byrd, Sue Frances Den ning, Marjie Ennis and Frank Westbrook, Joyce Clayton and Shirley all went fishing last Wed nesday afternoon and caught a lot of fish. The many friends of Troy Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Levitt Wood, who has spent the past 13 years in California, will be home April 1 with his sisters, Mr. and Mrs. James Lee and Mr. and Mrs. Dos ie Avery. He invites all his relatives and friends to drop in to see him at their homes. Mrs. C. R. Blackman spent Sun day night and Monday with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood Tart at Meadow School. Monday she had an old fashioned quilting party and invited the friends and neighbors to quilt and had a very enjoyable afternoon and quilted two quilts. Mrs. J. C. Woodall, Sr. and Mrs. J.
