Bridge Club
Mrs. Harold Morgan was hostess
to the Victory Bridge Club Fri
day night. Those present were Mrs.
Jaok Temple, Mrs. Herbert Car
son, Jr., Mrs. Thelbett Djeanu,
Mrs. Grady Johnson, Mrs. Lamar
Simmons, Mrs. Bernice Ligon, Mrs.
J. K. Williford, and Mrs. Hooper I
Bethune.
While playing, the guests were
served cokes, and nuts. A pecan
pie and cbffee were served at the
conclusion of play.
EASTERN STAR MEETS
Th Lilllngton Chapter of the
Eastern Star met las tnight to
hpnor Esthers of District 9. Visit
ors from Fayetteville. Erwin, and
Laurinburg were present. Gifts
from the Chapter were presented
to each Esther.
During the social hour at the
close of the meeting, punch, nut 3.
and cakes were served. A green
and white color scheme was used.

ton Chapter will hold their first
fall meeting Monday. September
19, at the Lillington Community
Center.

when she was hostess to the Ace
of Clubs Bridge Club.

son, and Mrs. W. H. Byrd. Mrs.
J. A. Walker, Mrs. Joel Layton,
Jr., Mrs. S. G. Howell, Mrs. John
Rigsby and Mrs. Bob Roberts were
the members who played.
Mrs. Layton received high score
prize: Mrs. O’Quinn, guest high,
and Mrs. Robert, low score award.
A delicious dessert course was
served at the conclusion of play.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Ray Moore of
Lillington, was christened on Sun
day morning at the Hay St. Metho
dist Church, Fayetteville where
Mrs. Moore is a member. Present
at the christening were Mr. and
Mrs. A. M. Ray of Lane, N. C,
the baby’s great-grandparents.

birth of a son, Jeffrey Lynn Car
roll, on September 12 at Rex Hos

The groom is the son of Mrs. J.

Stoudenmire, also of Raleigh. The
wedding is planned for Oct. 8.
