into the quarter-final* with a 12-67
victory over Pacific Lutheran. The
Illinois team wa sto front the dis

The Kaaans. seeded No. 7, ad
vanced with a 26-73 triumph over
Oeorgia Teachers, whose scoring
artist. Chaster Webb, was held to
only five field goals. Webb hit 14
free throws, however, for a 34
potat total.
Third-ranked Wheaton, the other
hot Illinois entry, defeated Stephen
Austin 74-66 to its second rounder.
Paced by Jerry Miller and Don
Anderson, who hit 31 and 17 points
respectively. Wheaton held a lead
of about eight points over the Tex
as* throughout.
McNeeee State College, led by
Us left-handed shooting wizard, Bill
Reigel, of Monaca, P»„ scored an
87-74 win over Central Ohio State.
Reigel turned in a brilliant 43-point
performance to make the differ-1
ence. His shooting fattened his sea
son total to 33 game* to 1.137
points, best college mark to the
nation.
Eight-seeded Texas Southern
swept into the quarter-finals with
a 64-61 conquest of a fighting
Rockhurst team, the hometown de
legate. Big Bennie Swain led the
all-Negro club with 23 potato.
